Were Planning for Babies!

Due to popular demand we are making plans for a Hopeful Breeding. This is our Beautiful boy Ikaris. His Mom is Splash, our Red Merl and dad Comet, our long haired blonde.

It has been a long while since we have encouraged a breeding. This means our Boys and our Girls stay completely separated. We only had one litter last year and Those babies have just gone to their new homes. As some of you may know I have had Covid and it took a LONG time to recover.

When we conduct a possible breeding we place one male with his prospective ladies….. we call it the Harrem. As you can see in the above youtube video, we keep them together and if they happen to get together… GREAT! We never force our girls or boys to preform. Our girls have a tendency to be selective, if they don’t like a male, they won’t allow him to mount her, no matter if she’s in full heat. I believe they can be minigenomes as well. I have attempted to Breed Splash with Baxter and she latterly was not having him ANYWHERE in her kennel. Obviously for his safety, I had to remove him.

Anytime I would open the door to clean her kennel or refill their food, she would run out and they would kiss threw the bars, so excited to see one another. Not saying that Comet wouldn’t see other ladies, but for Splash, he is the only baby daddy for HER. Lucky for us all, they certainly make some BEAUTIFUL babies!
